In 2018, after a series of severe setbacks, losses and hardships, the unimaginable happened. I let go of the rope I thought I needed to remain sane and an active member of society.
Suffering for years with chronic anxiety and depression, in one split second, complete inner silence and complete ineffable* peace.
(*ineffable is one of those funny words which always brings up the idea of “unfuckwithable”.)
Anyway, so there I was, with nothing, having lost everything including job, career, house, marriage and what I thought I needed to be happy. But inside, my soul was already in agony. So I “lost it all” – everything my ego felt it needed. They say the price for your brand new life is your old life.
There were consequences. But in my new state of mind, I simply didn’t care. Everything that used to bother me and cause so much angst and anxiety was mysteriously absent. Only inner silence and peace.
But wait a minute. My family literally thought I lost it and tried to have me committed. I had to prove to them I was sane by being examined by a psychiatrist and a therapist.
Through a referral, I also got the name of a medical intuitive and energy healer who immediately saw what was happening and found a way to ground me in the new reality after being cracked open. I wasn’t “crazy”. I was awake.
I always knew it was possible since I began meditating in 1977 and kept the practice daily ever since. Who knew losing everything meant gaining everything that mattered.
There is an old saying that does something like this:
“Before you go diagnosing yourself with depression and all, be damn sure that you’re not instead surrounded by assholes.”
Some people thrive off of keeping you imbalanced and unaware of who you are and your potential. If you begin to break free, they’ll do everything in their power to force you back into the box you’ve been in so you can be controlled. Part of the awakening for me was realizing where I was exactly on the scheme of life and that I indeed was being imprisoned and literally sucked dry by those who needed to feel powerful.
Needless to say, I left them all, to which they decided to blame all of it on me (predictable) but in return, I got my life back, published a book, and living more true to my soul. And this is something I would like anyone who is interested to also experience for themselves too.
